«Le général Benhadid risque de mourir d’un moment à l’autre», alerte l’avocat de ce dernier dans un communiqué transmis à notre rédaction. Me Mecheri affirme également craindre que son client ne soit bientôt «le troisième détenu d’opinion à perdre la vie en prison».

Selon l’avocat, la seule faute qu’ait commise son client est d’avoir adressé une lettre livrant son opinion sur la crise actuelle «mais mal interprétée par une îssaba (bande) qui s’acharne contre mon client car ce dernier avait au contraire soutenu la démarche du chef d’état-major, et c’est peut-être ce qu’on ne lui a pas pardonné». Me Mecheri décrit l’état de son client : «il ne parle plus, ne peut se lever ni s’assoir sans aide, même allongé il souffre. Après sa chute dans les douches de la prison, il a eu une fracture du bassin, la première opération n’a rien donné, il a eu une hémorragie, il sera à nouveau opéré aujourd’hui. Benhadid se trouve à l’hôpital Mustapha.
