ALGÉRIE/ POLITIQUE: UGTA, SIDI SAID « Je ne me présente pas à la candidature de la présidence de l’UGTA »
Après plus de 21 ans à la tête de l’UGTA, Sidi Said va quitter enfin la centrale syndicale.
Il a décidé de ne pas briguer un autre mandat. Abdelmadjid Sidi Saïd, secrétaire général de l’Union générale des travailleurs algériens (UGTA), a annoncé son retrait de la centrale syndicale.
Le retrait de l’homme fort de l’UGTA depuis 21 ans était prévisible vu la contestation de sa personne par plusieurs syndicalistes. Une contestation qui a atteint son apogée depuis le début du hirak. Au mois d’avril, il avait annoncé son départ anticipé.
Le 13e congrès extraordinaire de la centrale syndicale se tient actuellement au Centre international des conférences, à Alger. Il devrait découcher sur l’élection d’un nouveau secrétaire général avant sa clôture samedi 22 juin.
Sidi Saïd a pris les commandes de l’UGTA en 1997. Son mandat devrait prendre fin en janvier 2020.
